Beginning Belly Dance
DANC 1165-01 CRN Tuesdays, 1:15-3:00
All are welcome! We dance together in SFCC's beautiful fitness center dance studio. Warmup, technique, musicality, cultural context, improvisation and fun choreography!
Intermediate Belly Dance
DANC 2165-H1 CRN Thursdays, 2:30-4:15
For those with previous experience! If you haven't taken SFCC Belly Dance, you will need to contact Deborah for permission! We dance together in SFCC's beautiful fitness center dance studio. Warmup, technique, musicality, cultural context, improvisation and fun choreography!
These classes fill quickly, so be sure to register when registration opens! These classes are for credit, but also may be taken for audit.

Multi-Level Belly Dance Class!
Tuesdays, 7-8 pm, in-person.
At EmiArte Flamenco Dance Academy!
3022 Cielo Court, entrance on Calle del Cielo, Santa Fe.

Saturday Oct. 21st- Taqsim! Melodic Improvisation, includes slow movement, arms and hands, and feeling the music.

~ Mendocino Middle East Music and Dance Camp!
Aug. 5-10th, 2023 Mendocino Woodlands CA.
A spectacular dance and music camp in the redwoods.
An incomparable experience featuring dance and music classes all day and live music performances, parties and campfire all night. There will be 13 dance teachers, 17 music teachers and 3 guest music teachers, including Georges Lammam, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Leila Farid, Shahrzad Khorsandi and Aubre Hill, just to name a few. Zoom Stretch like a Cat!
Wednesdays, 12:15-1:15 pm MST

Saltanah Studios Teaching Philosophy
Saltanah Studios was founded by studio director and lead instructor, Deborah Newberg, in 2005. Since then, we have offered a creative and alternative approach to teaching Belly Dance at all levels. Classes are small, so individual attention and mutual support are the norm in our “dance family”. Our students are of all ages and dance backgrounds, with varied dance goals, from “just-for-fun-and-exercise” beginners, to those who are engaged in belly dance as a body-mind practice, to those who are training with us to become performers!
Belly Dance Classes include a stretching and strengthening warm-up, Belly Dance technique, rhythm training, choreography and improvisation. We help students to develop physicality, musicality and joyful self-expression through Belly Dance, encouraging the growth and individual expression of each dance student. Students who wish to have the opportunity to perform, and all students can benefit from our many workshops, performances and other events; we have a lot of fun!
